LAUNCHING AND LOADING PROCEDURES
LAUNCHING PROCEDURE
- Check ramp conditions & ramp for steepness & depth.
- Prepare boat for launching.
- Check and make sure plug is installed.
- Unhook all boat tie downs.
- Attach bowline to boat.
- Back the trailer carefully down the ramp into water until the stern of boat begins to
float.
- Release winch & carefully allow boat to slide off trailer maintaining complete control
by holding bowline.
- Tie boat securely to launching dock and pull trailer from water.
DRIVE OFF LAUNCHING PRODECURES
Follow previous steps 1 & 2
- Back the trailer to the edge of ramp; stop when the boat is a few feet from the water’s
edge.
- Climb into the boat.
- Have assistant back trailer into the water until the stern of the boat is floating.
- Start engine and back the boat off the trailer.
- Have assistant pull trailer from the water and park.
LOADING PROCEDURE
- Back trailer into water until front support V is partially submerged.
- Place vehicle in park and apply emergency brake.
- Place blocks under towing vehicle wheels to help prevent further vehicle movement.
- Pull winch cable out until about 6” to 10” is extended.
- Put winch into lock position.
- Drive boat onto trailer carefully until the bow touches V stop on winch stand. Front
guides will automatically center boat on trailer. Rear uprights if adjusted properly will
momentarily align stern.
- Fasten winch cable snap hook to towing eye on boat and wind in cable until sung.
Visually check alignment of boat and trailer.
- Pull the trailer and boat from the water with towing vehicle until on level ground clear
of boat ramp.
- Make sure boat is positioned correctly on trailer.
- Boat must fit securely in the V bow stop on winch stand. Perform all other tie down
steps necessary for safe trailering.
